the simple woman's daybook

FOR TODAY... Monday, Februry 2, 2009

Outside My Window... a jack russel that just pee'd on my front lawn

I am thinking... that the banana split for morning break was a brilliant idea

I am thankful for... leftovers, especially when they are the take out kind

From the kitchen... just washed dishes and the smell of garlic and tomatoes

I am wearing...
jeans and a meri blaus

I am creating... irritation in my own head over the choices for grade 9 in ontario

I am going... to begin more tok pisin study

I am reading... still Stormie, and yes, it is overdue. what I really want to know is how my other homeschooling friends truly have time to do laundry, cook healthy meals, clean house, homeschool AND read for pleasure

I am hoping... to memorize what I have committed to memorize

I am hearing... the hum of my laptoop and the occasional click of something in the dryer downstairs

Around the house... each of the scholars in his own little nook, inventing, writing, dreaming or drawing

One of my favorite things... gnocchi

A Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week... meeting on tuesday, looking at my options for high school and hanging more pictures

Here is picture thought I am sharing...

I'm eating a banana. Can I have the split part later?

I was cracking up this weekend at church conference during an icebreaker. The question was "favorite food" and someone said, "Tater dumplins." (And you must say this in your best southern accent.) When asked what tater dumplins are, she totally described potato gnocchi. I was cracking up but resisted saying anything. I'm too yankee as it is!

Brr... that's a cold picture you've got there. I'm with you on the takeout. You are a creative lady. It's my viewpoint that your friends aren't getting everything done. Something HAS to go by the wayside if you are enjoying a good book. I speak from a great deal of research ;)

"...how my other homeschooling friends truly have time to do laundry, cook healthy meals, clean house, homeschool AND read for pleasure" (and/or blog)

Clean house?! People do that?

For many years, my secret to getting in a goodly amount of pleasure reading was to breastfeed my kids for 1-1/2 to 2 years. :-) Haven't had that excuse for a looooong time now, as my youngest is 10. Now I blog instead of reading, and the only way I find time to do it is by neglecting other things that I "ought" to be doing. Priorities, you know.
